ROUTINE !! FITNESS !! HEALTHY

Having set our goal, and gathered tons of motivation; it is now time to set up a new routine. This is our next step. It might seem difficult in the beginning, but once you have a steady routine, you will start enjoying it.

Now, what actually is a routine? Something that you enjoy doing,
a sequence of actions regularly followed. You have to set specific timings, you have to give it time. This time, when given daily, forms a routine. It is not about waking up at 5 a.m. in the morning, it is about discipline and punctuality, and a good routine brings decorum to life.

Why do we actually need to have a routine, is this plan actually required? Routine can be as fun as a late night party with your loved ones. According to scientific research, it reduces your daily stress levels that are created due to piles of work, without an unplanned regime to complete it. It gives you a lot of spare time which you probably do not get without a plan to work out, and this creates a huge impact on your overall mental health. It reduces the chances of anxiety and stress, preventing further health problems which might obstruct you from achieving your goal. Once you tick off all the tasks you had planned in the starting of the day, you have a sense of relief, and you get a healthy sleep without any type of pressure. This leads you to have a good tomorrow, when you wake up fresh and determined enough to set up a new to-do list. You also tend to set up a good example for other people around you, and they get motivated from you then and there. What more do you want at the start when already we are bringing a change around us, just by these little efforts?

A routine can be in two forms– A timetable, or A To-Do List.

Timetable- A timetable is a form of routine when you put yourself into a fixed plan, with timings setup for everything you do, which you have to follow, willing or unwilling, which is actually not a good routine guide. It forces you to do certain activities, at the same time daily, which might get boring after a certain period of time. But what you can actually do is, that you can follow a timetable in the beginning, for maybe a week or so, when you really feel that dose of motivation, but once the routine is set up, and you know what all you need to do throughout the day, you need not force yourself to work according to the timetable.

To-Do List- A to-do list, on the other hand, is just a note down of all the tasks which you have to complete during the day, without any forced restrictions of time slots or intervals. You can just do whatever you feel like doing from that list, and in any order. This way, you have more control over what you wish to do, and you then start enjoying your work even more. As you keep on completing your tasks, you can tick them off from the list, and it will be a very relieving process, mentally. You can always add more tasks to your list, which you can complete after you are done with the former ones. You have to be truthful with yourselves. Sometimes, when you are not able to complete a day's task, take it to the next day’s to-do list, but try your best, to complete what you have made a note of.

We personally prefer to-do lists over timetables, because they provide you with more control and flexibility with your routine, which makes it more fun to follow, and you start to enjoy work too. But maybe timetables work out for you as well as to-do lists do, or maybe you prefer the latter, it completely depends on you, and therefore, you have to make a choice for yourselves and what works the best for you, what you are comfortable with.

What consists of a good routine? You can include all the good habits in your routine other than studies or working upon your main goal, which can be anything from a little journal to meditating daily. A few of them are–

Meditation- Your days can start with a good 5-10 minutes meditation, where you can just sit and relax your body, and notice your body and breath, you can follow any type of meditation regime, a lot of them being available on social media platforms like youtube. As much as meditation helps you to keep relaxed and focused throughout the day, it has also proven to be a secret to a healthy and long life, with benefits like reducing stress, and curing a lot of diseases. Meditation also increases your self-awareness, and reduces negative emotions, increasing your patience and tolerance levels. Meditation is a good step to add to your daily routine.

Reading- Including a good reading time of at least 5 pages a day, can also be a good part of your routine, which keeps you away from overthinking, and increases your focus. It also reduces the chances of you wasting time on a mobile phone or laptop, while you are free. You can read anything you want, it can be a newspaper, or maybe a novel, literally anything. Reading is proven to increase your brain power, making you capable of thinking in more directions and possibilities. You can read whenever you feel like, but preferably before going to bed, to help you relax your mind and have a good sleep.

Journaling- You can maintain a daily journal, keeping a record of your daily activities, and write a diary about your entire day, and how you feel about something. Journaling is a good way of keeping a good record of your personal and mental health. It tracks your growth and progress in an organized manner. Other than reducing stress and anxiety, journaling also helps to increase your general vocabulary and communication skills, and gain more confidence. You are able to achieve goals by making a note of what you desire. You can note down all your short term, and long term goals, making it easier for you to understand what you actually want.

Sport- Trust us when we say, physical strength is something that really plays a huge role in the long run, and for that, having some amount of physical exercise included in your daily routine, is a must. It can be anything from a proper sport like badminton, cricket, football, tennis, etc; to exercise and yoga, or maybe just basic walks and jogs. It not only keeps you active throughout the day, but boosts your metabolism, giving you more energy, which instantly gives you more ability to perform daily activities, and increases the chances of living longer. It also helps to maintain chronic health conditions in the long run, reducing any types of health risks. It strengthens your bones and muscles, showing instant benefits.

All of this can actually bring about a huge change and impact in your life as an individual– in your mindset, and overall personality. But most of what is required is consistency, and to be continuous on whatever you decide to do, you have to be committed to your work, no matter what you do, because according to a scientific research, it is proven that it takes at least 21- days for something to become a habit, and until those 21 days, you have to be consistent with your efforts, because it will pay you off, and reflect in your individual character.

Note:All of what we say is from our own personal experiences. We have researched and then experimented everything on ourselves, and then come to these conclusions, and put up everything here, which has worked out the best for us.
